Mexico's Carlos Slim is now considered the world's richest man. His net worth stands at 63 billion dollars (in the US a billion equals 1,000 million) and his wealth continues to grow at the rate of 2.7 million dollars per hour. It should be noted that Slim lives in a county where fifty-three percent of the population lives in poverty (less than $2 a day). Last March he announced that he would donate 10 billion dollars to charity in the next four years. Certainly his donations will provide much needed help for those less fortunate.
