West Texas Highway

West Texas Highway tells of an encounter with a hitchhiker going to Haskell; and of a girlfriend in Abilene. The hitchhiker says, "I'm going down to Haskell, Got a woman in Abilene."

The final verse tells of the driver's true feelings:

But I'm still wishing

To this very day,
That he had my clothes
 And my big Chevrolet,
And it was me going to Haskell,
With a woman down in Abilene.
