Love, Tolerance and Humility

There was an ABC News article about Irena Sendler, a Polish woman, who helped 2500 Jewish children escape the Nazis. The article was written by Jim Sciutto and published on Irena Sendler's 97th birthday-February 15, 2007. At the conclusion of the story it was mentioned that she was really disappointed. "After the Second World War, it seemed that humanity understood something and that nothing similar would happen again," Sendler said. "Humanity has understood nothing. Religious, tribal, national wars continue. The world continues to be a sea of blood." But she added, "The world can be better if there's love, tolerance and humility." Then she smiled. A wonderful woman.

We should listen, and speak of what we have seen--and smile.
